Three arrests have been made in connection with reports of sexual assault of a child in Mount Pleasant

The month of April is Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness month. In most cases children are abused and harmed by the ones closest to them.
During the month of April, MPPD has taken five reports for Sexual Assault of a Child, Indecency with a Child, and Child Grooming. Three arrests have been made in connection with these reports.
On April 8th, Martin Urista (45) was arrested and charged with Indecency with a Child, Child Grooming, and Delivery of Marijuana to a Minor.
On April 24th, Juan Malpica Hernandez (47) was arrested and charged with Child Grooming.
The third offender is a juvenile and was arrested for Sexual Assault of a Child and Possession of Child Pornography.
Urista and Hernandez are being held at the Titus County Jail.
MPPD Criminal Investigations is actively investigating these cases and additional charges may be filed.
