During the noon hour May 5, Pittsburg Police officers, according to a press release provided by the City of Pittsburg, responded to the 2500 block of North Greer Blvd and discovered a two-vehicle crash. Upon a further, on-site investigation by officers, it was determined that a 1997 Chevrolet SUV, operated by Marvin Hooper, 77, of Pittsburg was traveling southbound on US Highway 271. Reports indicate the southbound vehicle crossed over into the northbound lane of traffic striking a 2018 Toyota SUV operated by Darlette Nunley, 53, of Pittsburg. Tragically, both drivers did not survive their injuries. A passenger in Hooper’s vehicle was later transported to UT Health with none, life-threatening injuries.

Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are extended to the families and friends of both victims.
